2023 French Nature Summer Program

Our fifteenth year of our Art, Music and Science French Summer Program offers a creative, nurturing and relaxed experience for children ages three through seven years.

Children of all levels and French-speaking backgrounds are encouraged to speak French naturally while engaged in captivating workshops designed to both educate and entertain. Our integrated approach specifically engages the child in lively and creative activities to enhance developmentally appropriate skills in a foreign language. We believe in a supportive and encouraging learning environment where children feel a part of our learning community and are prepared to take risks in a safe space.

The daily schedule therefore includes a balance of stimulating and relaxing  developmentally appropriate activities. Outdoor activities will take place in the neighborhood parks and playgrounds. Our full-day program is from 9:30AM – 2:30PM and includes time for children to eat a home brought lunch.

Whether your child is in a Dual-Language French Program, a native French speaker, or curious about the French language and would like to start learning – our teachers will find a place of fun and joy in the classroom setting. Learn through play-based engagement with songs, movement games, and thoughtful and complex art projects that are fueled by the children’s individual interests and preferences.

Creative French Summer Program (3.5 – 7 years) Les Grands!

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting new and returning camper registrations for our 2023 French immersion summer camp.

Our summer camp will take place every day in Fort Greene Park  where teachers aim to provide. Our students will expand on their abilities to cope with the environment by solving real-world issues and building self-belief. This program will help participants to become resilient, creative and independent learners.

The themes have been chosen to help the children develop a love and respect for their environment. To see the beauty in tall trees and the tiny creatures, and to feel a connection so deep that they grow up to be good stewards of their world.

We will meet in the park every day unless it is raining, in which case we will meet at our location, on Nevins Street, in Boerum Hill.

The French language is taught naturally in this all-immersive environment and through the various artistic projects.

LLS ONLINE French Summer Program

At LLS, the pandemic has been a time when we have come together as a community and discovered the beautiful ways in which engaging as a classroom community can transcend distance. We have laughed together, learned together, talked about our perspectives, discovered new vocabulary in French, shared our observations of the changing seasons, and learned to grow our own plants at home. Most of all, we have seen children continue to get the support they need and grow through connecting with their teachers and classmates.

This summer, it is our goal to continue to support children in all of these ways. We are offering weekly summer programs beginning June 14th. Each week will offer a mix of engaging as a group on Zoom for learning in French, music, sharing, and community, and pre-recorded videos that will provide more hands-on educational activities, entertaining stories, and fun in French. Learn French, connect with our engaging approach to education, and support your child’s social-emotional growth by enrolling them to join our community this summer!
