Tatiana Kaufmann was born in Bordeaux, South Ouest of France, where she studied theatre, modern dance, linguistics and early childhood education. After graduation, she spent time traveling with several companies performing classic pieces such as “Les Femmes Savantes” written by Molière, “Les Chaises”by Ionesco, “Antigone” by Anouilh for audiences, young and old. Through her studies and travels, she found that working with young children, less fortunate than others was her passion.

After moving to NYC in 1999, Tatiana taught French to little people, understanding that kindness and respect were key to gain their trust, unleashing their curious minds. Her commitment to equality between humans inspired her to volunteer at a soup kitchen and care for elderly who needed company. Tatiana became a mother of two children and she accepted the position of Head Teacher at the Coop School, on the Lower East Side in Manhattan. From 2009 to 2024, she led the program, where she taught two- to five-year-olds French, using creative play and every art form possible, recognizing each child for who they were, with affection.

Teaching young children is Tatiana’s joy and she believes that school is a second home where young children should be free to experiment, touch, taste, take things apart and express themselves, being heard and noticed with kindness and an open mind. With many years of experience, she believes that her warm energy will carry on, feeding the mighty minds of her surprising students and their beautiful families. She is thrilled to be a part of LLS this fall. She will guide little ones and their parents to believe in themselves, embracing each other’s endearing quirks with respect, kindness and loads of humor.
