SUMMER PROGRAM
2026 French Nature Summer Program
Our seventeenth year of our Art, Music and Science French Summer Program offers a creative, nurturing and relaxed experience for children ages three through eight years.
Here, summer arrives, it is a new season opening the door to new experiences.
Children come to us with different relationships to French. All of it is welcome. All of it belongs.
Summer invites us to explore differently, to gather in new ways, and to say yes to new experiences. Our days are moments of discovery paired with pauses for rest, reflection, and imagination.
Our summer camp is rooted in presence, slowing down enough for children to feel seen, safe enough to take risks, and supported enough to find their voice. Our camp allows our children to slow down, to connect to nature, to language, and to one another.

Week 1, June 22- 26
À la loupe! Les grandes petites choses de ce monde: Let’s bring our attention to the smallest of things, to look, take time, take care, and find out what big things the smallest things have to say about our world.
Week 2, June 29 July 2 ( 4 day week)
L’art du quotidien: How can we make our day to day more beautiful? How can we live our everyday lives in music, color, and movement? This week we will explore this dialogue, converting what’s familiar into art.(3-day week)
Week 3, July 6- July 10
Les métamorphoses: The goal of this week is to examine the question of transformation: within ourselves, animals, vegetation, and also objects. Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed!
Week 4, July 13 July 17
La force de l’eau: 72% of the Earth’s surface is made up of water, 60% of our bodies are composed of water. What do we know about water? The goal of this week is to approach water in all its forms!
Week 5, July 20- July 24
Un parc laboratoire: This week we will look at the advances of science (experimenting with them) and their limits. We will be exploring the links that unite nature and science.
Week 6, July 27 July 31st
La magie des racines: Roots ground us as much as they allow us to grow, evolve, and develop. By observing them, drawing them, understanding them, and reinventing them, this week will aim to nourish us and help us grow from the soil, the earth, from our roots.
We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting new and returning camper registrations for our 2026 French immersion summer camp.
Our camp takes place outdoors in Fort Greene Park and in our beautiful school at 462 Vanderbilt Avenue, where our caring, experienced teachers create a joyful, immersive French environment.
Our lively weekly sessions engage children in French through play, art, music, storytelling, and hands-on science.
Our camp themes are designed to help children develop a love and respect for nature. They will learn to see the beauty in themselves, in tall trees, and in tiny creatures. By connecting deeply with the world around them, we hope to inspire them to grow up as caring stewards of the environment.
Each session is guided by our bilingual teaching team, who bring years of experience working with students at all levels of French comprehension. Whether your child is already immersed in a dual-language program, speaks French at home, or is simply curious to begin, we will meet them exactly where they are.
Join us for as many weeks as you like! We’ll meet in Fort Greene Park (or at our school in case of inclement weather).

Why Choose French Nature Camp?
Outdoor Exploration: Children climb trees, explore uneven terrain, and observe the sky, clouds, and wind—all while immersed in French.
Play-Based Engagement: Throughout the day, children work with open-ended materials, explore outdoors, build, take things apart, and return to ideas again and again.
Thematic Weeks: Artist counselors join us on site, bringing theater, movement, visual arts, and storytelling into the heart of our days. These workshops open new languages of expression and invite children to create, imagine, and collaborate.
Schedule & Dates:

Our French Summer Mini-Camp for children up to 3 years old will delight young French learners. They are child and caregiver participation and attendance. No French knowledge is expected of caregivers, but we hope you come in with an open mind and heart to be part of the experience and fun!
Mini-Camp will take place in our school, in Boerum Hill. Children will be immersed in music, instruments, singing, rhythm, poetry, and art, and they will connect with natural elements through their five senses – all in French. This camp for young children, filled with songs and movement games, also incorporates visual arts and begins to gently explore preschool themes, such as colors, shapes, sizes, and animals.
Please note that this class requires a minimum for 8 children enrolled per week.
