As we close the year 2024, I look back with immense gratitude and pride at the remarkable journey we’ve shared at The Language and Laughter Studio. This fall, our walls came alive with the creative energy of Francophone artists from around the world, who brought their talents and visions to our school. Together, we’ve woven art, language, and laughter into the fabric of our community.
One inspiring moment of the last three months was a JR project with L’Alliance New York. featuring stunning, large-scale images of our students standing proudly hand-in-hand. These photos, united in their joyful solidarity, symbolized the diversity and togetherness that define us. Under the theme of Francophonie, they explored the importance of bilingualism and cultural diversity. As Fabrice Jaumont eloquently reminds us, “The future of education is in two languages.” This vision drives us to advance multilingualism, empower families, and celebrate cross-cultural understanding—a shared battle against inequality.
One of the highlights of this year’s artistic lineup was Le Petit B, an extraordinary installation by choreographer Marion Muzac and visual artist Émilie Faïf. This dance piece, created especially for babies, filled our studio with pure joy and wonder. Hosting one of the rare North American performances of this acclaimed French production was such an honor and a beautiful reflection of our dedication to combining Art and Education.
Beyond the performances and installations, our physical spaces have transformed into vibrant hubs of learning and exploration. With the thoughtful guidance of our architects, Beth O’Neill and Chris McVoy, we’ve created an environment where children feel connected to themselves, their community, and the natural world. It’s a place where education meets thoughtful design, fostering curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
As we move into 2025, we look forward to welcoming even more artists, collaborations, and performances. Thank you for being part of our journey. We invite you to join us in celebrating the beauty of language, culture, and creativity that continues to define The Language and Laughter Studio.
