Virginie CharvonVirginie defines herself as an artist, activist and educator. She worked for 20 years in an international organization, in Peru, France, Burkina Faso and the United States, where she had the chance to develop projects with people living in underserved communities as well as assuming leadership positions at national and international levels.
Virginie is passionate about creating the conditions for a safe learning community for all, where each student’s strengths and talents are recognized and indispensable. Her teaching is based on relationships of love and respect.
Virginie is a multidisciplinary artist. She became and grew as an artist along her 20 year commitment to people experiencing the injustice of persistent poverty and discrimination. Mainly through print work, embroidery and collage, she explores the counterforce of societal and institutional oppression to hope that she often roots in the strength of nature.
This is Virginie’s first year at LLS and she feels very grateful for contributing to a school that believes deeply in the youngest children’s abilities and offers them the chance to develop their being as they are.
