Jessica is a born-and-raised New Yorker from the Upper West Side with Belgian and Norwegian grandparents. As a child listening to her grandfather and father speaking French, she decided that one day she too would be part of the family conversations. While studying Art History as an undergraduate at Connecticut College, she spent a year in Paris to polish her French and took classes at the Sorbonne, Paris IV.
She now regularly visits her family in Belgium and enjoys a strong connection with them thanks to her French.
After a number of years trying marketing in San Francisco and backpacking (in Australia as well), Jessica came back to New York and began studying and teaching yoga around New York City. She is trained in Hatha and Anusara and has taught children of all ages, adults, pre-and-post-natal, and parent & baby classes. During this time Jessica realized that the Early Childhood years were particularly interesting for her. She began to teach more full-time at an arts-based pre-school in Union Square, where she had already been working part-time. During the long days of Covid she decided it was time to get her Master’s in Early Childhood and she is currently completing her final semester at Bank Street College of Education.
Jessica is mother to 17-year-old Caetano who will be finishing high school this coming Spring—so both mother and son will graduate this year!
She is very much looking forward to starting the school year at LLS and getting to know all of your children.
