Caroline Spear

Caroline is Franco-American; she grew up in a bilingual home in a small town in Connecticut, and enjoyed spending her summers in the South of France with her family. She worked with young children as a gymnastics teacher throughout high school and as a summer counselor at the International Bilingual School of Provence. This inspired her to pursue her studies in Psychology and Education at Concordia University in Montreal.

After graduating, drawn to multicultural learning environments, she found joy in teaching English and French to children and young adults from around the world. She especially enjoys creating warm learning environments where kids feel supported and cared for as they grow and learn to navigate the world. Outside of school, Caroline likes to spend time in the park, do crafting projects, and, as she just moved to Brooklyn, explore all the fantastic things NYC has to offer! Caroline is inspired by LLS’s student-centered approach, which mirrors her own belief that meaningful learning happens when children are empowered to explore and express their own ideas freely. She is excited to start her first year at LLS this fall as a Classroom Assistant and After-School Teacher!
